Uncertainty over the global spread of the coronavirus and its effect on international travel has resulted in Paydirt Media postponing the Battery Minerals Conference scheduled for March 4-5 in Perth. A large international contingent, including delegations from the UK, EU and Asia, were scheduled to attend the conference but over the weekend advised Paydirt Media their intended travel plans had been postponed until further notice of the coronavirus being contained.
As the Battery Minerals Conference has steadily grown over its five-year history, Paydirt Media felt it appropriate to postpone the event and will seek to consult with the various stakeholders on finding an appropriate date to host the conference.
“In the last few days we have received requests from several high-profile international delegations from the EU, UK and Asia to postpone the Battery Minerals Conference due to the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus.
“We felt that by staging the conference without their participation the integrity and potency of the event would be diluted, preventing us on providing a high-quality product for all participants,” Paydirt chairman Bill Repard says.
“We have immediately begun work on finding a suitable time to host the conference. We will closely monitor the global health situation and discuss the process with our stakeholders before reaching a decision on the revised dates.”
